In addition, plan to maintain additional free hard disk space
of approximately four times the size of the C:\Genie directory,
including all subdirectories, for program upgrades and database
rebuilds. This additional space is still required on the C: drive
even if the Genie directory is maintained on a different drive.
Point
of Care (POC)
The Point of Care (POC) system requires a solid network structure. Agencies will
need to have an IT department or IT person to configure Virtual Private Network
(VPN) connections in order to be able to synchronize from a remote location to
the office. Spark Technologies does not provide nor is responsible for agency
network system due to the nature and distance of maintaining an office computer
network.
The
requirements for the POC hardware/laptops are the same as the
requirements for the Genie standalone workstations. Synchronization
of server and POC data
can be accomplished via hard line cables within the office, or remotely through
wireless connection and VPN. The POC laptops must be in the same network
as the other office computers and require unrestricted access
to the server’s
resources and shared files.
We
highly recommend that all users have a reliable backup system
or device to regularly backup their data. Natural
disasters, computer
viruses,
and human error are all
factors
that could
damage
or destroy your patient and business data. Protect
your business by ensuring that you would be able to be up-and-running
within
24 hours of data loss or natural disaster. |
